VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The library held a day long event called “Libraries are Sweet and Books are My Jam Market Day” and a silent auction on Saturday, December 7th to help close the funding gap of the roof restoration project. Several jams, jellies, sweet treats, crafts were sold during the event.

During the afternoon hours, some of our local talent performed mini concerts up in the library. Thanks to Joe DeMasi, Dave and Maggie Oakland, members of the Valley City Community Band Brass Ensemble, and the Valley Voices Choir for their wonderful Christmas music performances.

All proceeds from this event contributed to closing the gap of the library roof restoration project. Thanks to all who attended and donated money during the silent auction and other library events.

Support the library on Tuesday, December 10th from 2-4 pm on KOVC Radio. The Library Foundation board will be holding a “Close the Gap Library-a-thon” event hosted by Steve Urness of KOVC.

You’ll get a chance to hear about the restoration project, and more from Library Foundation President, Joe DeMasi, Valley City Barnes County Public Library Board President Hilde van Gijssel, Library Director Anita Tulp, as well as Ryan Goodman from RDA, Inc, who was the contractor for the restoration project.

Please join us in helping to “Close the Gap” and fully fund the library restoration and roofing project Tuesday, December 10th from 2pm to 4pm on KOVC Radio.
