VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Individuals with Alzheimer’s or dementia may begin having difficulty remembering what medications to take, when to take them, and whether they have already taken their doses for the day.  For this reason, caregivers play an important role in ensuring medications are taken safely and correctly.
“From bubble packs to alarming pill boxes, solutions are available to help manage medications to help make sure they are taken as prescribed,” says Kerry Due, Director of Nursing at City-County Health District.
The Sheyenne Valley Memory Café will meet on Thursday, December 19 from 1-3 PM at Faith Lutheran Church at 309 4th Street NE, Valley City. Kerry Due from City-County Health District will provide a short program, “Medication Management,” starting at 1:30 PM.
The Memory Café is an opportunity for people with early onset dementia or Alzheimer’s to connect as well as their caregivers and family members.
For more information, call City-County Health District at 845-8518 or follow @SheyenneValleyMemoryCafe on Facebook.
