JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Regional Medical Center Foundation has announced a new capital fundraising campaign to support three essential projects aimed at enhancing patient care. The initiatives, which include upgrading neonatal care equipment and bolstering emergency room security, underscore JRMC’s commitment to exceptional healthcare services for the community.

The campaign seeks to raise funds for three vital improvements. The Pediatric Protection System, with a goal of $150,000, would allow JRMC to implement the Hugs® and Kisses® infant protection system in its Family BirthPlace. This advanced technology provides a critical layer of safety by pairing a Hugs tag worn by newborns with a Kisses tag worn by their mothers, ensuring correct matching and alerting staff if an infant is moved outside of secure areas. This system is designed to strengthen newborn security at the hospital.

An additional $25,000 is earmarked for the Panda™ Warmer, an essential device in JRMC’s labor and delivery suites. The Panda Warmer keeps newborns warm immediately after birth and is equipped with oxygen monitoring, resuscitation assistance, and a built-in scale, providing critical life-saving support when needed.

To enhance security and patient safety, JRMC also plans to remodel the entrance of its emergency department, aiming to raise $46,000 for the project. This renovation will create a more secure admissions area, allowing medical teams to focus on delivering essential care during emergencies.

“These projects are essential to maintaining the high standard of care that our patients and their families expect,” a media release states from JRMC President and CEO Mike Delfs, who expressed gratitude to the community for its continued support, enabling JRMC to provide “legendary care to those who need it most.”

The JRMC Foundation encourages support from community members, local businesses, and charitable organizations, with each donation contributing toward JRMC’s mission of delivering exceptional care now and into the future.
