VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Oliver the Triceratops by Alan Komrosky and Hell Creek Relics, will be leaving the Barnes County Museum by the end of October.

Museum curator Wes Anderson said this temporary display is a first-of-its-kind exhibit showing the still-in-field-jackets “Oliver” in comparison to the Triebold Paleontology casting of “Gundy” the triceratops, owned by the North Dakota Geological Survey.

He said Oliver is a 65% complete male, 100% real fossil, specimen found in Southwest South Dakota’s Hell Creek Formation. Gundy the Triceratops will remain at the museum.

Anderson said Oliver hasn’t been with us long, but it’s been an amazing exhibit and we’re grateful to Alan Komrosky and Hell Creek Relics for making it possible!
