VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – On Thursday, September 12th during Summer Vikes on Central from 5:30 – 8:00 PM, there will be an evening of creativity, and community connection!
Valley City Tourism and Summer Vikes on Central invite YOU to be part of something special by helping bring a new community mural to life! This project isn’t just about paint, it’s about people. The mural, designed by a group of local artists, was created to increase the vibrancy of Valley City, inspire art involvement, showcase the fun and exciting things Valley City has to offer, and remind us all of the beauty we can build when we work together.
Why This Matters: The community mural is more than an artistic piece, it’s a reflection of Valley City and the amazing people who make Valley City great. It symbolizes the spirit of community engagement, where every brushstroke is a reminder that we all have a role in creating something bigger than ourselves. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or someone who’s never picked up a paintbrush, your contribution helps foster a sense of belonging and connection. Together, we’re making our community more colorful, and vibrant. (Those under 5 years old must be accompanied by an adult.)
A heartfelt thank you to Dean and Dixie Sauer at Valley Officeworks for donating the north side of their office building to be the home for this mural and to Valley Service for letting us use their driveway space to make this event possible. We also want to extend a huge thank you to Mrs. Krueger and her art students at Valley City High School for volunteering to help
during this project.
Painting is FREE! The VCHS Art Class will be on site to help guide the community painting, volunteering their time to ensure everything goes smoothly. If you’d like to support the art department, you can contribute by shopping their Amazon Wishlist, directly benefiting art education at Valley City High School.
Funding for this project was made possible by the Main Street Initiative (MSI) Vibrancy Grant Program, which focuses on supporting small community projects that increase vibrancy and inspire continued growth toward a more dynamic and engaged community.
