JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown Regional Medical Center (JRMC) is addressing the critical issue of lung health with an upcoming free education class aimed at promoting better breathing for all, including non-smokers. With over 7,000 non-smokers dying each year from lung cancer, JRMC is taking a proactive approach to educate the community on maintaining lung health.

“When people hear lung health, they instantly think tobacco use,” stated JRMC Respiratory Care Manager Nicole Brandvold. “This JRMC U will deliver far more than advice to quit smoking.”

Brandvold will lead the class “JRMC U: Breathing With Confidence” on July 24, covering topics such as managing lung conditions like Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder (COPD) and asthma, and understanding the insights provided by a pulmonary function test. JRMC’s respiratory care team is experienced in diagnosing and treating a wide range of lung and breathing disorders.

“Our goal is to empower people to understand better and manage their lung health,” said Brandvold. “We want to educate the community on the resources available to them through JRMC and answer any questions they may have about respiratory wellness or specific lung conditions.”

The JRMC U program offers free monthly educational events on various health topics. The upcoming class will be held at the Two Rivers Activity Center (TRAC), with attendance limited to the first 40 participants. Interested individuals can reserve a spot by calling (701) 952-5301 or registering online at jrmcnd.com/U.
