JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) -Jamestown residents are invited to honor fallen service members this Memorial Day, Monday, May 26, with a series of events planned throughout the city to pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
The day’s observances will begin at 9 a.m. with a program at Shady’s, located inside the Gladstone Inn&Suites. Following this opening ceremony, a Naval Ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Nickeus Park bridge. Later in the morning, simultaneous programs will be held at each of Jamestown’s five cemeteries. A significant ceremony will then follow at 11 a.m. at Fort Seward’s memorial wall.
The community is invited to gather for lunch at the All Vet’s Club beginning at 12 p.m. A free-will offering will be accepted for the meal, which will feature BBQ pulled pork on a bun, potato salad, chips, coffee, water, and Kool-Aid.
