JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) -The Stutsman County Commissioners have appointed Ben Tompkins as the new commissioner for Stutsman County in a 3-1 vote. Tompkins is a local farmer and was appointed to the vacant position left with the passing of Jerry Bergquist.
There were 11 applicants total for this position and among these applicants were George Barnes, John Baumgartner, Paul Belzer, Dernel Denning, Steven Gerszewski, John Grabinger, Daren Peterka, Trever Sahr, Benjamin Tompkins, Taylor Vining, and Alan Williams. A special meeting was held Tuesday May 20th, at the Stutsman County Courthouse to appoint a new commissioner.
